Just Love – Day 12
There is a story about a young girl, left at night to say her prayers. Her parents go to check on her as she’s been a while. Her reply to them?
I was just telling God that I loved him, and he was just telling me that he loved me
Nothing else mattered to her at that time, she was lost in wonder love and praise – of and for God.

The preacher in me is desperate to add – that then we can love others. But there is not even that. Today we are just to get lost in love and praise of God. To give our heart mind and soul over to him.
To sit in God’s love, to let it feed our soul, to tell him of our love for him.
Matthew 22:34-38
The Most Important Commandment
34 After Jesus had made the Sadducees look foolish, the Pharisees heard about it and got together. 35 One of them was an expert in the Jewish Law. So he tried to test Jesus by asking, 36 “Teacher, what is the most important commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus answered:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. 38 This is the first and most important commandment.
The suggested Advent Action today speaks of the “old tapes” running through our heads.
Oh those old tapes, “You’re not good enough”, “You’re not worth it”, “You never do anything right”, “I can’t trust you”…
How I long for the day, when I can bask in God’s love long enough and deep enough that I allow him to erase those tapes from my life. It’s me stopping the love, not him.
Lord,
I thank you for the depth of your love for me;
that in you am I worth it,
I am loved,
I’m not rejected.
Thank you for coming to earth to show it
– not just to me, but to every single person.
Today Lord,
may I sit in your love,
allow it to fill my heart, soul and mind,
and to just love you

Love this “How I long for the day, when I can bask in God’s love long enough and deep enough that I allow him to erase those tapes from my life. It’s me stopping the love, not him.”
Thanks 🙂 Wish it weren’t so…
