Good Friday?

What a strange Good Friday it’s been.  I began to wonder if anyone knew it was Good Friday.  Tv seems to have missed it from my gleaning of the tv listings; then having been away this week, we thought we’d find a service on the way home somewhere.  Didn’t seem unreasonable at 10am on a Good Friday morning…

We tried two churches that had no mention of anything.  We eventually ended up in a northern cathedral, where there was nothing whatsoever to suggest that it might be Good Friday.  Eventually, through pure persistence, I managed to find some Stations of the Cross posters around.  All seemed very strange for a day when Jesus gave up everything for the world, and the world, including some parts of the church, seem to be letting the day pass by unnoticed.

Thank you Jesus for all you did on Good Friday.

One Response to “Good Friday?”

  1. I really have a problem with calling it Good Friday. I wonder is Christ would have called the day Good Friday as He hung dying on the cross. What about Peter, John and Mary? Good Friday! My heart hurts for the sacrifice of my savior today.
