9 How can we possibly thank God enough for all the happiness you have brought us? 10 Day and night we sincerely pray that we will see you again and help you to have an even stronger faith.
11 We pray that God our Father and our Lord Jesus will let us visit you. 12 May the Lord make your love for each other and for everyone else grow by leaps and bounds. That’s how our love for you has grown. 13 And when our Lord comes with all of his people, I pray that he will make your hearts pure and innocent in the sight of God the Father.
I bring you
my heart,
my life,
my offering
to you.
You guide me,
lead me,
keep me safe.
You remember me,
know me,
better than I know myself.
But I ask you to forget
the stupid things I have done;
the things I have got wrong
even,
or especially,
when I thought I was right;
the right things I didn’t do.
See me Lord
and not those things,
make me more than that,
better than that,
living in you.
Forget what I have been,
remember
what I can be
and help me to live it.
And help me
to do the same with other people,
also known,
remembered,
forgiven
by you.
25 I offer you my heart, Lord God, 2 and I trust you. Don’t make me ashamed or let enemies defeat me. 3 Don’t disappoint any of your worshipers, but disappoint all deceitful liars. 4 Show me your paths and teach me to follow; 5 guide me by your truth and instruct me. You keep me safe, and I always trust you.
6 Please, Lord, remember, you have always been patient and kind. 7 Forget each wrong I did when I was young. Show how truly kind you are and remember me. 8 You are honest and merciful, and you teach sinners how to follow your path.
9 You lead humble people to do what is right and to stay on your path. 10 In everything you do, you are kind and faithful to everyone who keeps our agreement with you.
I made a wonderful promise to Israel and Judah, and the days are coming when I will keep it.
15 I promise that the time will come when I will appoint a king from the family of David, a king who will be honest and rule with justice. 16 In those days, Judah will be safe; Jerusalem will have peace and will be named, “The Lord Gives Justice.”
