Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday is fantastic. All that excitement. Shouting and cheering for Jesus. Waving and celebrating. Recognising that he is the one who has come to save them.
But how quickly people change… I wonder if this was the same group of people who just a few days later turned their shouts of praise into shouts of “crucify him”. From praise to condemnation, from cheers to jeers, from life to death.
What about us? What comes out of our mouths? Do we praise or condemn? Cheer or jeer? Welcome people, or try to get rid of them if they threaten us? How quickly can we turn?
Jesus came to free us. Shall we shout him down and want things our way, or welcome him, praise him and celebrate his coming. Hosannah to the Son of David!
